Philip K. Russell, MD was an icon of vaccinology, virology, tropical medicine, infectious disease, and biodefense and President (1983) of ASTMH and a retired U.S. Army Major General. Donations to the Phil russell Memorial fund will fund ASTMH-led efforts that recognize his contributions and further inspire the lives and careers of the global tropical medicine/global health community. These efforts will center around, but may not be limited to, the Annual Meeting.
